When I was new to blogging and was at the learning curve, I was enthusiastic to learn different SEO terms and wondering what they are for! Everyone like me should have passed that learning stage and I didn’t have any mentor that time from whom I can directly learn blogging and SEO. So whenever any question used to arise on my mind, I just did a Google search and find the answer. The cool thing about Google search is that it provides the best articles on your related searches.
When I first knew about dofollow and nofollow links, I was thinking how to find out whether a link is nofollow or dofollow. If you are newbie and have the same question in mind, then below short guide is for you.
How to Check Whether a Link is Dofollow or Nofollow?
You can check Dofollow and Nofollow attribute of any link by any of these methods:
Check Page Source
This is useful finding all nofollow links on a particular page. Just right click on any page and click “view page source”. This will open the page source. Use the find option or press Ctrl+F on your keyboard and type nofollow. It will highlights all “nofollow” mentioned words on the page.
Check Specific Link
When you like to check the nofollow attribute of any specific link, select the link and right click “view source”. It will open the link source only and find the rel=”nofollow” tag in the HTML attribute. If you cannot see any such tag, then the link is a dofollow one.
Using Extension
If you are mass checking nofollow links for several sites or pages, then using a browser plugin or extension is a good solution.
- Chrome Users install the following extension. Nofollow
- Mozilla users can download the extension and install. NoDofollow
